Platform 16

The Platform 16 project is located within the Diridon Station Area Plan in Downtown San Jose and includes three buildings. The buildings will be Class A commercial offices totaling 1.1M SF of total use including three levels of below-grade parking and 16 terraces to encourage connection with nature and open space within the building.

Kier + Wright provided civil and survey services for this mid-rise development and successfully managed its scope with consideration of the transit-oriented master plan. Its vicinity to the SAP Center and Diridon Station required K+W and the project team to coordinate and incorporate design elements that synchronize with Caltrain, the VTA light-rail, the ACE train, and the planned BART extension and High-Speed Rail line. K+W also coordinated with the FAA for height restrictions and location of the project due to the proximity of airport flightpath. K+W helped solve the City's flooding issues by developing the project and rebuilding the 60" storm drain line.

K+W was able to efficiently work with the design build team to move the project through entitlements and into construction. This project is an example of K+W’s experience with transit-oriented design-build developments in San Jose, particularly mid-rise projects that require complicated coordination with the city and other municipalities.
